P&O Takes Delivery of Ventura

P&O Cruises has taken delivery of its newest ship, Ventura from Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard. The 116,000 GT, 3,100 berth ship, similar to Princess Cruises‘ Crown Princess, Emerald Princess and upcoming Ruby Princess, is the largest ship ever built for the British market.

Peter Ratcliffe to Retire from P&O Princess

P&O Princess Cruises International CEO and Carnival Corporation & plc executive director Peter Ratcliffe has announced that he will retire as CEO of P&O Princess on his 60th birthday, 6 March 2008.

Ventura Floats!

P&O Cruises‘ latest ship, Ventura, floated for the first time yesterday at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard.
At 115,000 GT the ship, based on Princess‘ successful Grand-class design, will be the largest cruise ship ever built for the British market. (Interestingly, P&O prefers “superliner” to the American “mega-ship”.) With art from the Tate Modern, food from Marco Pierre [...]
