Marco Polo “Undiscovered”

Sadly, I have received news from Voyages of Discovery that they have not purchased the MARCO POLO.
With them out of the picture, I personally judge the strongest rumor to be the one that she will go to the German market, probably either Phoenix Reisen or Transocean Tours.

Greek Government May Seek €1 Billion From Louis

Cruise Business Review reports that the Greek government will sue Louis Cruise Lines for up to €1 billion in damages resulting from the sinking of the Sea Diamond off Santorini in April.

Opera to Louis

It is certainly a big day for Louis Cruise Lines: having announced the charter of Ocean Countess, the company has also announced that it has purchased Opera (ex Silja Opera, SuperStar Taurus, Leeward, Sally Albatross) from Sea Containers.

Ocean Countess to Louis - UPDATED

Monarch Classic Cruises announced today that its largest ship, Ocean Countess, is to be chartered to Louis Cruise Lines for the summer season, replacing Sea Diamond. (We are yet to hear from Louis what the ship will be called.)
Her itineraries will be assumed by the lovely Ocean Monarch, which would otherwise have been without employment [...]
