Rumors: Club Cruise, Fred. Olsen, Saga to Order in Korea?

Cruise Business Review reports that Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and Saga Cruises are rumored to be considering ordering new ships from South Korean shipyards. The report suggests that Saga may order a 30,000 GT ship, but does not mention a possible size for a Fred. Olsen ship.

Finnjet to Become Club Cruise Ship Da Vinci?

The German web site FINNJETweb reports that Club Cruise has acquired the former Silja Line ferry Finnjet for conversion to a cruise ship called Da Vinci by T. Mariotti in Genoa.
According to the report, the ship has already been renamed and will sail to Italy within a week.

New Club Cruise Subsidiary to Market Van Gogh in UK - Updated

Following the collapse of charterer Travelscope, Club Cruise has announced the formation of a new subsidiary, Van Gogh Cruises, to continue to operate the popular Van Gogh in the UK.

Astoria to Leave Transocean Tours

Transocean Tours has announced that the 18,591 GT, 500-berth Astoria will leave the fleet after her final world cruise for the company concludes in April 2009.
Built in 1981 as Astor and later named Arkona, the ship has been chartered by Transocean since 2002. Originally chartered from Sovcomflot, Astoria was sold to Club Cruise in 2007 [...]
