The intrepid Steve Read is yet again on board one of the world’s newest cruise ships. This time it’s MSC Cruises’ latest, MSC Poesia, aboard which he’s sailing from Aker Yards France in St. Nazaire to Dover, where she begins her commercial life with a naming ceremony by Sophia Loren, the friend of MSC’s owning Aponte family that has done the honors for each of its new ships.
The 92,409 GT, 2,550-berth ship is the latest in MSC’s Musica-class of Panamax vessels, following sisters MSC Musica (2006) and MSC Orchestra (2007). Like them, she features stylish Italian-designed interiors by Studio De Jorio.
