Celebrity Cruises has been unveiling more and more details of the 122,000 GT, 2,850-berth Celebrity Solstice, set to enter service in December 2008. The latest is The Lawn Club, a half-acre (2,130 square meter) ‘country club’ featuring a cruise industry first: real grass!
The Lawn Club will offer bocce ball, croquet, putting, picnics and more. The Patio on the Lawn will be the venue for the recently-announced Hot Glass Show, a glass-blowing show presented in association with the Corning Museum of Glass, and The Lawn Club will also feature the Lawn Club Shop and the Sunset Bar.
The Lawn Club was designed in association with the renowned architectural firm Wilson Butler, which has already worked for Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, and with the help of experts from the University of Florida.
