Fred. Olsen Cancels Balmoral Inagural

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has cancelled the 30 January inaugural voyage of Balmoral.
The former Crown Odyssey/Norwegian Crown has just completed a lengthening and major refit at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg, which increased the 1988-built vessel from 1,052 to 1,340 berths and from 34,242 GT to about 43,000.

Quail Cruises Unveils 2008 Program

Spain’s newest cruise line, Quail Cruises, has unveiled its 2008 program.
The company will charter the 1971-built, 20,186 GT, 640-berth Pacific (ex-Pacific Princess/Sea Venture) from her owner, Brazilian tour operator CVC, from April to October 2008. Finnjet to Become Club Cruise Ship Da Vinci?

The German web site FINNJETweb reports that Club Cruise has acquired the former Silja Line ferry Finnjet for conversion to a cruise ship called Da Vinci by T. Mariotti in Genoa.
According to the report, the ship has already been renamed and will sail to Italy within a week.
