Cunard Line has announced a change in the 2008 schedule of its 148,528 GT, 2,620-berth flagship Queen Mary 2. A schedule change in the ship’s maintenance program has resulted a 24-day drydock period being scheduled for October 2008, requiring the cancellation of four sailings.
Affected sailings are as follows: M841 (six-night westbound Transatlantic departing 22 October); M842 (four nights, departing 28 October) and M844 and M845 (both 10-night Caribbean voyages departing 1 and 9 November).
In addition to a full refund of the fare, a future cruise credit amounting to 10% of the fare paid is being offered to all those who have been booked on the cancelled voyages, and a letter of explanation and apology has been sent out to all those affected.
The scheduling change has resulted in the addition of two new voyages to the ship’s schedule: a six-night transatlantic crossing departing Southampton on 15 November 2008 and an eight-night Caribbean cruise from New York departing on 21 November 2008. Both voyages are now open for booking.
