Travelscope in Administration; Club Cruise to Operate Van Gogh World Cruise

30 Years Ago: Remembering Cunard Princess, Cunard’s Last Cruise Ship

This month, much of the talk in the ocean liner and cruise ship community has been about Cunard’s latest addition to the fleet, Queen Victoria. She’s the first purpose-built cruise ship (please don’t call her an ocean liner) for Cunard in 30 years. That ship 30 years ago was Cunard Princess.

NCL Unveils Freestyle 2.0 Enhancements at Norwegian Gem Naming

At the naming ceremony for its newest ship, the 93,530 GT, 2,376-berth Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Cruise Line unveiled the details of Freestyle 2.0, a series of fleet-wide enhancements to improve its on-board products.

World Discoverer to Become Silver Dawn; Sail in Tahiti from 2009

Seatrade Insider reports that the 6,072 GT, 1989-built World Discoverer, recently bought by Silversea Cruises, will be renamed Silver Dawn. The ship is expected to enter service in May 2008 after a major refurbishment at Fincantieri in Trieste, where the ship was recently brought after years of lay-up in Singapore.
