Princess Cruises has announced that beginning in November 2008, the 77,441 GT, 1,950-berth Dawn Princess, built in 1997, will become its second ship based year-round in Australia. Her 1995-built sister Sun Princess already arrived in Australia this month to take up year-round residence there, but while Dawn was already scheduled to reposition to Australia next November, she was previously intended to return to the US in May 2009. Now she will join her sister as a ship dedicated to the Australian market year-round.
Princess’ third Sun Princess-class ship, the 1998-built Sea Princess, is already dedicated to the British market, operating from the UK in summer and Barbados in winter.
