Seabourn Pride in New Livery

Seabourn Cruise Line, which has maintained its position as one of the world’s top cruise lines despite the fact that all three of its ships are now between 15 and 20 years old, has announced that the three 208-berth sisters - Seabourn Pride (built 1988; 9,975 GT), Seabourn Spirit (1989; 9,975 GT) and Seabourn Legend (1992; 9,961 GT) - will receive multi-million dollar makeovers by April 2008.

The refits are designed to keep the ships at the top of their class while the company builds the new 32,200 GT (est.), 450-berth Seabourn Odyssey, which will be its first new ship in two decades. (Seabourn Legend was acquired in 1996 from Royal Cruise Line as Queen Odyssey and was originally built for Royal Viking Line as Royal Viking Queen.)

Each ship will receive an enlargement of the outdoor section of the Verandah Café/Restaurant 2 with a new awning, a new access staircase and new furniture in the Sky Bar, new carpet in many public areas, upgraded treatment rooms in the Spa, new furniture in the Card Room and Internet Café and completely new bedding.

The ships are also receiving a new livery with a the sheer line and Seabourn funnel logo changed from dark blue to black and gold, respectively. The new livery had already appeared on renderings of Seabourn Odyssey.

Seabourn Pride has just completed her refit in Germany. In January 2008 it will be Seabourn Spirit’s turn in Singapore and in April 2008 Seabourn Legend’s in Lisbon.
