
Carnival Corporation & plc and Orizonia Corporacíon, Spain’s largest travel company and the parent of Iberojet Cruceros, have announced that they have finalized the agreements to form Iberocruceros.
Iberocruceros is the replacement of Iberojet Cruceros and will be 75 percent owned by Carnival and 25 percent by Orizonia. The company’s initial three ships will be Iberojet’s two current vessels, the 1,244-passenger Grand Mistral and the 824-passenger Grand Voyager, plus the 1,486-passenger Celebration, currently in the Carnival Cruise Lines fleet, which is scheduled to enter service for Iberocruceros in the spring of 2008.
Iberocruceros’ general manager will be current Iberojet Cruceros general manager Alfredo Serrano. Its chairman will be Costa Cruises chairman and CEO Pier Luigi Foschi. The company will be based in Madrid and its three ships will fly the Italian flag.
