Apollo Management, which bought a majority of Oceania Cruises in February for $850 million, has bought a 50% stake in NCL for $1 billion.
Star Cruises will continue to own the remaining 50% of NCL. Apollo will, however, be the controlling shareholder and hold three seats, a majority, on NCL’s board, while Star will have two seats.
NCL and Oceania will remain separate companies and the deal is not expected to have any immediate impact on either company.
