In 2008, Abercrombie & Kent will expand its expedition cruise offerings with new cruises to Japan, the Russian Far East, Alaska, the South Pacific and New Zealand aboard Clipper Odyssey.
Most recently owned and operated by First Choice Expedition Cruises and now owned by Clipper Group (the similarity between the owner’s and the ship’s names is coincidental; the ship’s name comes from Clipper Cruise Line, one of First Choice Expedition Cruises’ predecessors) and operated by International Shipping Partners, the 118-passenger Clipper Odyssey (built in 1989 as the Oceanic Grace and later Oceanic Odyssey) has also been chartered for several years by Zegrahm Expeditions. It appears she will now split her time between the two operators.
Abercrombie & Kent also offers a series of Antarctica cruises each year aboard Explorer II (the once and future Minerva), chartered from Swan Hellenic.
