Seatrade Insider reports that Opera (ex Silja Opera, SuperStar Taurus, Leeward, Sally Albatross) is on her way from Tilbury, London, where she’s been laid-up, to Piraeus where she will undergo ‘rearrangements of some of the public areas’ before entering service for Louis Cruise Lines.
The ship will operate three- and four-night Greek Isles cruises, replacing the Sea Diamond (ex Birka Princess) which sank in Santorini in April.
These cruises are currently being operated by the chartered Ruby (ex Ocean Countess etc.). After Opera’s entry into service in July, Ruby, which has been chartered until October, will operate cruises from Limassol.
The report states that Opera will be renamed but no new name is given.
