Monarch Classic Cruises announced today that its largest ship, Ocean Countess, is to be chartered to Louis Cruise Lines for the summer season, replacing Sea Diamond. (We are yet to hear from Louis what the ship will be called.)
Her itineraries will be assumed by the lovely Ocean Monarch, which would otherwise have been without employment this summer as she prepared for her three-year charter to Hansa Kreuzfahrten beginning next year. There will be no interruption to Monarch’s cruise program.

Update: Here is an announcement from the Cyprus Stock Exchange. In keeping with the “gem” naming theme intermittently use by Louis, Ocean Countess will be renamed Ruby.
